Siakad Ma'had Aly
Developed and maintained backend services for the Academic Information System (SIAKAD) of Ma'had Aly jakarta during my internship at PT Inagata Technosmith. My primary responsibility was building and improving RESTful APIs that support academic administration workflows, including proposal seminars, thesis examinations, comprehensive examinations, and graduation registration. I also contributed to maintaining administrative modules, resolving production issues, improving data import/export functionality, and enhancing file upload/download services. Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with QA engineers, validated implementations using Postman and manual testing, and followed Git-based code review and pull request workflows to ensure reliable and maintainable software delivery.

Overview
SIAKAD (Academic Information System) is a web-based platform developed for Ma'had Aly Yogyakarta to support academic administration and streamline student-related processes. During my internship at PT Inagata Technosmith, I contributed as a Backend Developer, focusing on RESTful API development, backend maintenance, bug fixing, and improvements to several administrative modules.
The project was still under active development, requiring close collaboration with UI/UX designers, frontend developers, backend developers, QA engineers, and project managers to deliver stable, scalable, and maintainable software.
The Challenge
As the system continued to evolve, several backend services and administrative modules required improvements to support academic workflows while maintaining system stability. The objective was not only to implement new functionality but also to resolve production issues identified during the QA process.
- Develop RESTful APIs for multiple academic registration workflows.
- Improve backend reliability and data processing.
- Support document upload and download functionality.
- Resolve production bugs reported by the QA team.
- Maintain compatibility with existing system modules.
My Role
As a Backend Developer, I was responsible for implementing backend features assigned through ClickUp while collaborating closely with QA engineers and other development team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop RESTful APIs.
- Maintain backend services.
- Fix production issues.
- Improve administrative modules.
- Validate APIs using Postman.
- Submit Pull Requests for code review.
Solution
Academic Registration APIs
I developed several RESTful APIs to support the academic registration process. These APIs enabled secure communication between the frontend application and backend services while ensuring consistent data processing throughout the academic workflow.
- Proposal Seminar Registration API
- Seminar Hasil Registration API
- Comprehensive Examination Registration API
- Munaqosyah Registration API
- Graduation Registration API
Administrative Module Improvements
Several administrative modules were enhanced to improve data management and resolve issues discovered during QA testing. The improvements focused on backend logic, data consistency, and overall system stability.
- Student Grade Management
- Student Transcript
- Transcript Export
- Schedule Management
- Schedule Export
- Student Data Import
- Employee Data Import
- Student Table Layout
File Management
I also developed and maintained backend services responsible for file upload and download functionality, ensuring reliable document exchange between the client application and the server.
Bug Fixing
Multiple production issues reported by the QA team were investigated and resolved. Each implementation was manually validated using Postman before being submitted through the Pull Request workflow.

Key Contributions
- Developed RESTful APIs for academic registration workflows.
- Built file upload and download APIs.
- Resolved backend issues reported during QA testing.
- Improved multiple administrative modules.
- Validated APIs using Postman.
- Collaborated through Pull Requests and Code Review.
Outcome
The implemented improvements increased the stability and reliability of the SIAKAD platform during its development phase. Backend services successfully supported academic administration workflows, while improvements to administrative modules reduced issues identified during QA validation. Every completed task passed manual verification before integration into the main development branch.
What I Learned
This project strengthened my understanding of backend software engineering in a real production environment. Beyond developing APIs, I learned how to analyze production issues, collaborate within a cross-functional development team, validate backend services using Postman, and follow professional development practices such as Pull Requests, code reviews, and QA verification before deployment.
